Sony cutting 80GB PS3 price to $400 in September, ditching backwards compatibility

Sony announced at E3 that it's cutting the price of the 80GB PS3 to $400 in September, and that the new model will have the "current functionality" of the 40GB PS3. So it's really more like the 40GB PS3 is getting a capacity bump, since we're taking that to mean backwards compatibility is going out the window. That also means that the 80GB PS3 now costs the same as a 60GB 360 and an Xbox Live membership, which should make the decision a little harder for some people. We're also wondering if that's the end of the line for PS3 backwards compatibility entirely -- we have a feeling launch consoles are about to get a little more precious.

Gotta go potty??

Customers at a Burger King in the Texas Medical Center must request a token or use a coin to open the restrooms. The customer reached for the handle on the restroom door only to find there wasn't one. In its place was a silver lock and a sign: "Doors open with token or coin. Customers must request a free token from cashier."
After a brief hesitation, the man pulled a quarter from his pocket, inserted it into the slot and went inside.
The scene at a Burger King on West Holcombe at Main is a reminder that nature's call inevitably must be answered. On the streets of Houston, however, that is not always easy.

Heres a good reason why Im buying this camera...hahha

I do not plan on taking this guys job.. but this is a good reason.....

More BlackBerry Thunder pictures

Here you can check out how the media player will look while playing music, complete with title, artist and album art. There’s also a better look at the camera functions in both landscape and portrait modes. Flash, zoom, cropping, video and e-mail functions are all built into the main interface and a glimpse at what we can expect from OS 4.7. There are still plenty of pictures of the BlackBerry Thunder’s media player and virtual keypad out there, if you’re looking for more pics to slobber over.

A story of love and heartbreak and the little in-betweens.,

Good movie that makes you think a little bit...or reminisce, one of those. It's not too funny not too serious, not a chic flick, and not a total drug/sex movie...I love it! This is a remarkable film, but definitely not for everyone. The movie shows how you understand something's value after you lose it. And how to not to lose after you lose. And overall, to deal with what you can't change..
Directed by Hunter Richards, his 1st film and I'm not sure it was him that made this movie the way I loved it or the actors and actress. I have never post any movies but this one here has alot of mixed reviews, you have to love it or bash it. I for one love this movie I have to say I would put this up there in my list. Beside the sex scene the ending was one that got me.... I won't say more either you watch it or you don't, be open minded going into it and you might enjoy the 90 mins.

Megan Fox Next movie??

Now here’s the best news I’ve heard all year. The hottest girl on the planet, Megan Fox, wants to film an entire movie naked. I $##! you not. MEGAN FOX. AN ENTIRE MOVIE. NAKED.

Here’s the skinny according to The Daily Star:
NEWLY-single MEGAN FOX tells me her ambition is to film an entire movie naked.
She said: “I would love to do a movie naked – it would be beautiful.
“No one dares make that kind of film today. They did it in the 1930s in an arty way, so why not now?” (Source)

The Record Breaker...

I have not read anything on how this movie did so far, but the way I see the lines in New York City for this movie I believe it will break Spiderman's opening week. I was in Union Sq. around 3:30pm on a 94 degree saturday afternoon and there were 2 lines of people waiting on line to go into a packed movie theater. I know that the Imax Theater is sold out for 2 weeks, and that when I saw the line to watch the 1:30am show in Regal Battery Park last night it was what set my mind. Its been a long time since I've seen so many people willing to go into a crowded theater on a hot day to watch a movie sitting next to a oversized person try to fight for the 2 inch of arm rest, and while the manager at the theater say the AC is on full and there are roughly about 400 people per theater, there is no way you can sit out the 2:30 hours of this movie.

Star Wars SEXIEST Fan.......

Yea that wave was for me.. hahaha (Yea RIGHT).

A history in the making... The Bape BOOK!!!

Titled A Bathing Ape, the 368-page book takes a look back at Bape’s design history, through pictures of products like G-Shocks, all over printed hoodies, and sneakers, along with the celebrities like Kanye West, Pharrell and T.I who wear them. The book will be distributed by Rizzoli International Publications and will retail for $60.00 in November.

Celebrating their 15th Anniversary this year, Japan's A Bathing Ape has achieved more than most other brands in this business. Today the brand is still going strong and heavily expanding overseas, outside of Japan. They've finally released a book chronicling that time period. No matter what your opinion on the brand is these days, they were the first in many areas and have pushed the envelope for the market in general.
The book was written by by Nigo, Ian Luna and Akio Iida. More info here.
Be sure I will try to get this Book. If anyone know of a person in Japan speak now or forever hold their peace....

RIM struggling with Blackberry Thunder touch control

Apple may have a huge big massive hit on its hands in the form of the iPhone - but Research In Motion's fight back plan may be falling apart, an analyst said this morning.

Nomura analyst Richard Windsor has warned clients that Research In Motion is struggling to develop the touch interface for use within its forthcoming 'iPhone killer', the BlackBerry Thunder. The analyst says the implementation even lags behind Nokia (who we think themselves are trailing Apple on touch controls).

"Those who have handled prototypes complain of poor typing, unresponsive keys, bugs in the user interface cause by touch as well as accelerometer issues," Windsor said, as reported by MarketWatch.

The analyst also warned Nokia's future touch-controlled Tube just won't have the edge and usability of an iPhone. (see, we told you...)

So, right now it looks like Apple's about to clean up in the smartphone space. Did we mention UK iPhone 3G carrier O2 this week saw pre-orders for the device flying in at a rate of 13,000 per second?

"Demand was at 13,000 orders per second," said O2 yesterday. "Frankly, we have to admit we just weren't prepared for this unprecedented level of demand. No website is."

iPhone 3G screens made "warmer"

The great 320 x 480 screen was among the things that didn't change with the 3G iPhone, or so we thought. Some of the lucky folks who managed to snag a 3G iPhone have noticed that the screen on the new model seems to be slightly yellowish compared to the original iPhone. Now Engadget is reporting that this is intentional. According to an Apple marketer "the screen's color temperature has been purposely altered on the new iPhone to produce warmer, more natural tones, sharper images, and deeper blacks." Apparently the iPhone engineers decided that the first generation iPhone screen was "colder and less defined" and so made the change. So for those of you out there that have upgraded: what do you think? Is the new screen better?

As for the 3G iPhone, there are plenty in stores. The problem is that customers can't get them working. Reports are coming in of people waiting for hours in Apple Stores while employees attempt activation. Some are being told to go home and activate on their own, only to find that activation servers are down. Not the PR either company wanted today.

The guys at ifixit in New Zealand..

The iFixit guys did what they said they would do and are up with first-look photos and analysisof their dissection of the iPhone they bought this morning in Auckland, NZ. They report the only other American outfit there with them was a team from Engadget.

The photos posted on the iFixit page link to hi-res images for a better look inside the new phone. Some good news is that the battery inside the iPhone, while secreted away beneath a sealed case, is not soldered-on inside, which should reduce the cost of replacing one after it withers from surfing the web at 3G speeds.

Segway CTO joins Apple

Doug Field, former chief technology officer at Segway, has joined Apple as vice president of product design. As you know, the Segway is the two-wheeled transportation device that Woz loves (he even plays polo with it), but gave President Bush a bit of trouble. However, I am a bit nervous that he's the VP of product design, because it's impossible to ride a Segway and not look like a total tool.

Lines already at the Apple Store for 3g iPhone??!@!#!!@

Yeah, the answer would appear to be “Yes!” Roughly 1 week before the new iPhone 3G becomes available, there seems to be a line forming in front of the 5th Avenue Apple Store. The collection of folks has formed with the specific intention of breaking the world record for longest time waiting in line. If you ask us, it’s not the most effective use of 7 days of your life, but if breaking obscure and meaningless records is your thing, you might want to jog down and latch on to this gravy train. Given the slightly diminished demand for the new iPhone relative to last year’s bum rush, coupled with Apple’s tendency to meet initial consumer demand for new products, we don’t think you’ll need to hit the line more than 30 minutes or so before the doors open to secure a handset on the 11th, but extreme measures never hurt a soul, right? Unless you’re an infant waiting in line because you parents forced you so you could break the above meaningless world record.

Jay Z skrewed over 40/40 workers

Multimillionaire Jay Z has been sued by current and former employees of his NYC club 40/40, according to reports.

The employees claim they were denied hourly wages and forced to be compensated by customer tips alone.

WTF?

They also assert that they were forced to pay for breaks, spills, and "walkouts" on the job.

The report goes on to say that hundreds of former employees could be eligible to collect on the claims if their case wins in court.

Things aren't looking good for Hova.

The source claims that a federal judge has admitted the club owners violated federal labour laws after reviewing an earnings report for at least two workers who showed they were not paid for overtime at the venue. The judge said, "The record contains corroborating evidence of the allegations."

Such disappointing news.

We always thought of Jay Z as a pretty good guy.

Let this be true..

Megan's been spotted around without her fiance for some time now.

She's also not been sporting her engagement ring.

And now, new reports are claiming that the engagement is off and their four-year relationship is over.

The reason? It seems that the 22 year-old Megan feels shes too young to settle down with 33 year-old Austin.

Like, duh!

Wwe agree with you there! She is young and she shouldn't get married unless she's 100% sure.

Though, then again, she shouldn't have accepted the engagement ring either.

But, better to realize a mistake sooner than later.

An inside source says, "Megan still cares about Brian, but she now realizes she's too young to marry him."

Too bad for Austin, Megan is one of those rare girls that actually wants sex all the time!

She has said, "I really enjoy having sex, and that's offensive to some people. I'm young and have a lot of hormones - I'm always in the mood! But I like sex with one person when I'm in a relationship. Sex with random people who I've met at clubs is not really my thing."

Don't worry Megan, we're positive you'll find someone soon.
